Mentor Quality Matters: Supporting a Continuum of Teacher Development
The Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession (OSTP) are the framework
for Ohio’s Continuum of Teacher Development through the levels of prelicensure,
residency, teaching and leading. Beginning January 18 and
ending March 14, 2012, the Southeast Ohio Teacher Development Collaboration (SEOTDC) will offer
free online professional development modules to assist cooperating teachers and the school principal. These self-paced modules include an overview of mentoring
(i.e.: definitions, mentor qualities, mentoring styles), as well as an overview
of Ohio’s Continuum of Teacher Development and its alignment with OSTP.
Participants will have the opportunity to communicate via “Blackboard” and
interact with other cooperating teachers/mentors, principals and SEOTDC
university teacher educators. More information HERE.
