ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department graduates

Coaching our youth

As a home to prestigious programs, the Department of Recreation and Sport Pedagogy (RSP) attracts students from Ohio, across the United States, and from around the world. The Department is committed to the creation, dissemination of theoretical and practical knowledge through its distinctive programs and professional opportunities to meet the career goals of its undergraduate and graduate students. Guided by faculty, students are challenged in the classroom and in experiential learning environments to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies needed for professional success.

The Department offers two graduate programs including Coaching Education (on-line and on-campus) and Recreation Studies (on-campus). It also has undergraduate programs in Physical Education/Teacher Education and Recreation Studies. The undergraduate programs are accredited by national accrediting organizations: National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
