Reading buddies enjoy a story at The Plains Elementary School. |
Students who have graduated from an approved program of teacher education and have licensure, may take graduate level coursework leading to a reading endorsement at the graduate level. Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement
Middle Childhood teachers are licensed to teach two content area (Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, or Science) in grades 4-9. The Generalist Endorsement will allow licensed Middle Childhood teachers to add one or two additional content areas for grades 4-6. State requirements call for six semester hours for each content area plus the required Praxis exam for the content area. Since Ohio University operates on a quarter system, students will need nine quarter hours to meet state requirements.
