Student Admission

Eligibility

Eligibility for admission to the Upward Bound Program is determined by the following:

Annual family income and/or
Potential first-generation college student
Currently of freshman or sophomore status at a Upward Bound partnership high school
Have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Recruitment

Recruitment sessions in the Upward Bound target schools take place during the month of October. At each schools scheduled visit an Upward Bound staff member will come to the school and hold an informational session for sopohmores about the program.

*Recruiting for the 2011-2012 academic year is closed.

To apply for the Upward Bound Program, students can either get an application from their high school guidance counselor after the informational session or download an application to be completed and given to the guidance counselor to send to the Upward Bound office.

Students must submit the following with their application to be considered for admission to the Upward Bound Program:

Copy of Federal Income Tax Return Statement or notarized official document that shows annual income. Do not send W-2 . The current Federal Income guidlines can be found here.
