COLLABORATION
The advocacy of media literacy starts in my own classroom and extends into local communities, and national and international arenas. My collaborations with and mentoring of others, and impact on media literacy education appear on multi-levels. The links below provide examples. Please click on them to view:
• Example Thirty – A poster displayed at The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education and Human Services, Ohio University showing my collaboration with area teachers and graduate students on media literacy studies.
• Example Thirty-One – A request from a university professor from Iran for an article I wrote on media literacy.
• Example Thirty-Two – A request for the study “Media Use by Chinese and U.S. Secondary Students: Implications for Media Literacy Education” from an education researcher in SRI International Center for Technology in Learning.
• Example Thirty-Three – Email request for information on media literacy from a graduate student.
• Example Thirty-Four – Request for a workshop for area school librarians and media specialists by the Instructional TV programming coordinator for the educational technology agency, ETSEO, in Athens. The programming is aired from 9-3 on WOUB/TV.
• Example Thirty-Five – A proposal for a US Department of Education grant to improve literacy for local schools including media literacy.
> I am invited to guest edit a special issue of the journal New Horizons in Education on media literacy education. It is coming out December 2010. Please send your manuscript to me.
