ATHENS, Ohio (January 18, 2012) - Denver Fowler, a Patton College doctoral student at Ohio University within the Educational Leadership and Administration program, was recently named a recipient of the ‘Learning and Leadership’ grant from the National Education Association Foundation in order to attend Harvard University’s ‘New and Aspiring School Leaders’ program. “I am extremely excited to have received the grant,” Fowler said. “This grant will allow me the opportunity to attend Harvard University for this excellent learning opportunity.” Fowler is already a member of ‘The Principals’ Center’ at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. He is currently working toward his Doctorate degree at Ohio University in Educational Leadership and Administration where he is currently in the dissertation process. During his tenure in the program, he has obtained his Principals license grades PK-12, has completed all coursework towards his Superintendents license, and published two scholarly book reviews in national education journals. In addition to his responsibilities as a doctoral student, Fowler is also a part-time Adjunct Professor and Lecturer at The Ohio State University where he teaches several courses within the College of Education and Human Ecology. Additionally, he is a full-time sixth grade school teacher within the Licking Heights Local School District. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University ‘03 (BA) and Mount Vernon Nazarene University ’05 (MA).
