ATHENS, Ohio (February 15, 2012)– David Brightbill, a graduate of Ohio University and current trustee serving on the University Academics committee, will be returning to Athens on Thursday, February 23 to present the winter installment of the Patton Lecture Series with a presentation entitled “The Importance of Giving.” The speech will be in McCracken Hall on East Green in room 214 A and B on Thursday, February 23rd from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Since receiving his Bachelors degree in 1970, Brightbill, a Marietta resident, has worked for the Community Action Program Corporation of Washington-Morgan County. He was named executive directory of the corporation in 1987. He is also a past president of the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies and the Corporation of Appalachian Development. Brightbill’s presentation is open to the public and will run from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be served during the presentation. The Patton Lecture Series features a different speaker every quarter. Speakers typically are graduates of the Ohio University’s Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education and/or advocates of education and human services. The series brings in speakers from different areas who all share the common goal of advancing the fields of education or human services. |
