Praxis I
The Praxis I exams are academic skills assessments required for all students in teacher preparation programs at Ohio University for admission to professional education. The tests are designed to measure reading, writing, and mathematics skills and are available through either a paper-based or computer-based format. Required scores for admission to professional education at Ohio University:
NOTE: The Praxis I requirement may be waived for entering students with an ACT composite score of 21 or higher OR an SAT combined score of 990 or higher.
Praxis II
The Praxis II exams are subject assessments that measure a candidate’s knowledge of the subjects s/he will teach, as well as general and subject-specific pedagogical skills and knowledge. The Praxis II exams are required for licensure in Ohio and in many other states.
